OK.... Here they are.... The ONLY ball you will ever need !! To satisfy my curiosity (and also to treat myself) I brought a 3 pack of the new '05 Titleist Pro V1x's.. and they are TRUELY AWESOME. I'd read all the guff about EVEN lower spin rates, EVEN better playability and I thought how can they improve on the ProV ? Well they have.... I'd say this new ball is longer than the old model AND has even better feel. Using my Titleist 983K driver, I found they launched much better with a really nice 'hot' feel that just zipped off the face - Not massive amounts longer, just maybe 1/2 a club less into the greens. They really held their line, even on a windy day and felt just superb - Easy to shape and not wild when caught slightly off centre like HX Tours can get. No complaints on the irons, still the same 'Stop & Drop', with a lovely feeling, especially on soft shots around the green. Only one ball will be gracing my bag this summer - Guess which !!
