Titleist NXT Tour S Golf Ball

5 stars out of 5 (Based on 1 reviews)

The 2012 Titleist NXT Tour S ball has a softer compression feel and outstanding distance.

The NXT Tour S is designed to deliver low driver and low iron spin but also offer excellent short game feel and performance. The proprietary soft compression, high resilient core gives the NXT Tour S it's commanding short game spin and control, whilst the soft, thin Fusablend cover delivers excellent durability and consistent ball flights.

Titleist have developed a new spherically tiled 302 octahedral dimple pattern for the 2012 NXT Tour S ball, that is laid out with 4 axis of symmetry. Each NXT Tour S is sidestamped with Titleist's AIM, Alignment Intergrated Marking, and the NXT Tour S is available in white or a high optic yellow colour.

Titleist NXT Tour S Golf Ball Review

The Titleist NXT Tour S golf ball came about by chance when Titleist were testing versions for the new NXT Tour ball, as around half the respondents preferred the softer feel and and so the NXT Tour S was born. The solid core has a compression of 75-80 and will be a little longer than the standard version if you currently hit your drives around the 215 yard mark. Players with higher swing speeds will probably hit the NXT Tour a few yards further.

The main difference is of course the feel which is very good for a 2 piece golf ball. The feel off all clubs is noticeably softer but actually the NXT Tour S golf ball spins a little less than the standard version so if you need a bit more grip then the NXT Tour may be a better option.

The durability of the cover is very good and there are 2 options of a white or a yellow colour, which is great to see in this level of ball. Titleist say that the yellow is 'stunning' and whilst we wouldn't go that far, it is a nice green/yellow colour from the mint green core a translucent cover over and pearlescent gold coating.

Visually it really does make the ball easier to see at address and in flight so if you need help following the ball then this is worth checking out. Otherwise the white NXT Tour S option is just as good as the different colour does not affect the performance.
