The forged stainless construction of the Titleist Forged Stainless 804.OS, is unique to Titleist and delivers significant performance benefits. The precise, multi-step process preserves the grain structure to deliver a consistently soft feel and allows for a thinner face and more optimum weight distribution. The result is the best of both worlds, an iron with the exceptional feel characteristics of a forging and the outstanding playability of a cast head. The Titleist Forged Stainless 804.OS irons have a bigger more forgiving head than the 704.CB. The long blade, wider sole, thicker top line and lower centre of gravity combined with enhanced offset in the longer irons deliver 'easy-up performance' and maximum forgiveness. The new 804.OS iron therefore encompasses all the game improvement characteristics of its predecessor the DCI 822OS but is contained within a more traditional head shape. As Titleist's new irons are made from stainless steel rather than mild carbon steel, the heads do not have to be chromed therefore allowing for full custom-fitting and grinding capabilities. The iron heads can be bent up to 4 degrees upright or flat which allows for more accurate custom fitting for players of all shapes, sizes and swing planes.
