Titleist AP2 Steel Shaft Irons

The Titleist AP2 irons feature contemporary technology with traditional Titleist feel for the better and aspiring player. The AP stands for Advanced Performance, and the new irons deliver on that promise. The AP2 features a multi-material construction and dual cavity design that combine to provide unmatched feel, forgiveness and playability in a Titleist iron. Four different materials are used in the construction of the AP2 irons, including a steel body, tungsten nickel steel box, and central support bar with elastomer cushion and aluminum cavity plate. The Titleist AP2 iron body is forged with 1020 mild carbon steel.

The Titleist AP1 irons are advanced performance, multi-material, dual cavity, chrome plated technical forging for the skilled, single digit golfer who wants contemporary iron technology with traditional solid feel, looks and shot control. Titleist AP2 irons target the skilled golfer with enough performance to easily reach the aspiring serious golfer. High-tech design and construction deliver outstanding performance. Multi-Material Design with upper and lower cavities that optimize weight distribution to the perimeter, while the precise forged steel body with high density tungsten nickel box provide feel, forgiveness and performance. Elastomer cushion on central support bar dampens vibration for outstanding feel. The Tungsten Nickel Box is a high density material located in the back and sole encloses the lower cavity to locate weight low and deep for performance while providing structural rigidity and low frequency vibration dampening for unmatched feel. A thin face distributes additional weight low and deep to help improve the weight distribution and performance while the Cross Member provides rigidity behind the impact area for solid feel. Soft elastomer cushion dampens face vibration for outstanding overall feel. Dual cavity, multi-material, thin face design optimizes the Center of Gravity (CG) location in the center, low and deep for optimal launch, increased ball speed, higher launch and consistent spin performance across the hitting area.

The Titleist AP2 has a contemporary, confidence inspiring set-up appearance features a traditional profile with soft blends, modern proportions and a semi-underslung hosel junction with an attractive cavity plate and back graphics with multiple elevations and textures for great shelf and bag appeal. A high performance sole width and bounce with relieved trailing edge for playability and shot making. Shorter hosel in long irons helps bias weight low for improved launch and a longer hosel in mid and short irons helps manage flight.

I've had my Titleist 690CB irons for 5 years and had no intention of letting them out of my bag until I tried the new Titleist AP2 irons. Simply awesome. I had 3 shots with a 6 iron and went back to pro shop to get the rest. Short irons fly lower and more controlled, long irons fly further and higher. I have not carried a 3 iron for a couple of years in favour of a rescue, but even that has gone. The clubs are that easy to hit. The feel is super soft even with off-centre hits. A must try for all low handicap golfers.

The AP2 is probably the best Titleist iron I've ever hit. These things are just awesome. There is nothing bad to say about them. Everything from looks, feel, forgiveness, flight, etc, etc are all out of the top shelf. This club is the business and I would put them into my bag straight away. Get custom fit for these and you will start to enjoy golf so much more.
