Golfalot Best Buy

The Titleist 913F fairway wood builds on the design and technology of the Titleist 910F and is built to offer more distance and more performance.

The 913F maintains the Tour-preferred look and feel of previous Titleist fairway woods, as well as the SureFit hosel technology that allows for adjustability of both loft and lie independantly of each other. Titleist engineers worked on making the SureFit sleeve lighted and more tapered, to save overall clubhead weight. Further weight was removed from a thinner crown, meaning additional weight is located low an further back in the club, improving the centre of gravity.

The Titleist 913F features a 160cc on the 13.5 and 15 degree models and a 140cc head on the 17, 19 and 21 degree models. There is a lower spinning 913F.d model that features a larger head and a centre of gravity nearer the face of the club, designed for the players who hot their 3 wood off the tee a lot and like to work their ball flight more

Titleist 913F Fairway Wood Review

The Titleist 913F fairway wood has been to the doctors for a bit of nip and tuck around the hosel area and it now looks very sleek at address.

The hosel still comprises the SureFit Tour adjustment system which we think is still the best adjustable hosel in the market as it enables you to change loft and lie independently of each other. The previous 910F hosel was not that bulky or off putting to us, but by shortening and slimming down the hosel the 913F does look a lot better.

Bear in mind that unlike the 913 driver you can’t put a 913F head on a 910F shaft as the hosel fitting is not only shorter but also 0.4mm narrower. Having a smaller hosel also enables more weight to be moved around the head now to make it more forgiving and the slightly larger head and face have made the 913F much more forgiving than previous models.

This is a really important change as we felt the 910F was still maybe a little on the compact side for anyone other than very low handicappers. Now with the slightly increased size, the 157cc head and a larger, faster sweetspot it is now much more forgiving and playable for more single figure handicappers.

If you have a 910F you can expect to gain an extra 1 mph ball speed combined with 250 rpm less spin using the 913F fairway wood and that should gain you around 6 yards, which is significant.

The launch angle was pretty similar to the old model and the sound and feel was very good whether you were using it from the tee or the fairway. The Titleist fairways are slowly becoming more forgiving and with the 913F fairway we think they are close to having a high quality fairway for more golfers than just the elite.
