5 stars out of 5 (Based on 1 reviews)

The Titleist 913 D3 Driver is a 455cc driver designed to provide more speed, distance and precision fitting with Tour preferred looks, sound and feel.

The design of the 913 driver centres around creating more distance and less spin through more efficient weighting and an improved CG location. Acushnet's engineers created the face using a Forged Variable Thickness Insert with a central thick portion combined with thinner, variable tapered thickness. Thinning the face away from the centre creates more forgiveness and speed across the entire face.

The new forged face is 2 grams lighter than previous models and increases ball speeds on off-centre hits by up to 2mph. There is an 11% increase in the maximum ball speed area versus the 910 drivers, which means heel and toe mishits will go further.

The centre of gravity in the Titleist 913 D3 driver has been lowered closer to the neutral axis improving the performance, speed and forgiveness. By removing weight from the face and using a new weight configuration on the sole, the centre of gravity is positioned to improve forgiveness, workability and performance.

The Titleist 913 D3 and its 455cc head is designed to be more workable than the D2 with less of a draw bias.

The 913 driver has a redesigned Surefit Tour Weight in the rear of the sole. The weight is 2 grams heavier than before with newly designed screws that ensure the weight of the clubhead is positioned lower.

The Titleist 913 Driver is essentially designed to be a driver that is better performing, offers more speed and distance and can be adjusted to suit a golfer's specific swing and desired flight.

Titleist 913 D3 Driver Review

The Titleist 913 D3 driver is pretty similar to the 910 D3 except that it has a more forgiving face for off centre hits. Titleist have increased the speed of the face so that you get around 2mph more ball speed from toe hits and just over 1% for low on the heel. This may not sound much but 2mph will give you an extra 4-6 yards which is about half a club less into the green.

The centre of gravity is in the same position as the 910 D3 so if you strike consistently out of the middle then the 913 version may not be worth an upgrade. Compare to the 913 D2 driver the head is smaller at 445cc and this makes it a little more neutral than the draw bias of the D3 and and easier to work, should you choose to do so.

The market leading Sure Fit Tour hosel is the same as before and offers a loft and lie range of up to 2.25 degrees. This enables you to get the correct settings and shaft to maximise distance and accuracy from your swing. Make sure you get fitted by a Titleist fitter as this will help you get the most from your fairly considerable investment in this excellent driver.

We really liked the sound and feel of the 913 D3 driver and the classic shape of the traditional pear shape will appeal to all levels of golfer. The 913 is actually one of the most forgiving drivers in the market so we feel the D3 should be considered by all single figure handicaps at least as you will not be disappointed.
