The Titleist 909 D2 Driver is aimed at the lower handicapper who requires a modern, high performance driver that produces a mid launch trajectory with low to mid spin. The 909 D2 driver has a maximum 460 CC pear shaped, titanium clubhead with a shallow face to deliver consistent results for the low handicapper. The clubface insert has been designed to maximise the energy transfer across the clubface and rear sole ridges combine with two distinctive trapezoid shapes across the centre of the club to reduce vibration and create a fantastic impact sound. The Titleist 909 D2 driver signals Titleist’s first use of a titanium Blind Bore hosel that secures the shaft of the club within the neck and offers both stability and flexibility across the whole range of 909 D2 shaft options. A swingweight screw in the rear of the 909 D2 sole allows for any weight differences when different shafts are custom fitted. The Titleist 909 D2 driver is the perfect club for the modern golfer who wants to control accuracy and ball flight with incredible sound and feel off the tee.

The Titleist 909 driver is a dramatic improvement on their recent drivers. Titleist drivers have always looked very classy and for all you Titleist purists out there you will be pleased to hear that fine tradition has been continued. However it is in the performance of the club where the big changes have occurred as all 3 of the 909 D models are much more alive than the previous models. The feel and sounds at impact is excellent and for a better players driver they are reasonably forgiving, although if you put a bad swing on one you will notice the difference. However as better players we all hit it out of the middle don’t we so we are all going to appreciate the consistency of the strike and the fact we can move the ball left, right and change the trajectory to suit. There are 3 models in the D2, D3 and DComp and we’re not going to pick the best one because that is Titleist’s job. Each head has different spin and launch characteristics and you need to combine these with the correct shaft top get the best model for you. The D2 has a slightly longer 460cc titanium head head for a mid launch with low spin. The D3 is also titanium with a smaller 440cc head for low launch and low spin, ideal for very low handicap players and the DComp is a composite titanium and carbon head for High launch and mid spin. All 3 models are excellent and in our view this is one of the best new drivers in the market this year, so get along to a Titeist supplier and try one out.

Outsanding driver! It's like driving a Bentley - oppulent, satisfying, unreal. If you're looking for real value for money from a driver that will last you years and will not depreciate, the Titleist 909 D2 is the club for you (if price isn't the sole factor in club choice)For months I suffered using other cheaper drivers, but once I mastered using this driver, my game is now truly set for mid to lower handicaps.I bought a virtually new 909 D2 driver at my local pro shop at a bargain after trying out 3 other new driver model versions. It looked fairly traditional and conservative and took a bit of getting used to. Initially, I hooked and sliced a few shots, but once I found the most suitable address stance by choking down on the grip, I have been averaging 250-260 yards dead straight onto the fairway, 1st time, every time, without any problems! I'm now averaging 275 - 290 yard drives in at least 14 - 15 fairways in every round on proper championship courses I play. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!If you want a sweet, professional sound, confident re-assuring shot every time you tee off - this club delivers. I went down to the 2010 Callaway golf demo day and tried out a few variants of the FT, but none of them were as consistent, solid, smooth and relaxing as the Titleist 909 D2.As my playing partners said, with the Titleist 909 D2, bad shots are down to me, not this club - simple as that!
