The Titleist 907 D2 driver is based around increasing the moment of inertia or twisting of the club head at impact, particularly on off centre hits, buy moving the weight low and further back in the clubhead. In addition the 3 piece head construction incorporates a new milled aluminium hosel and a high speed beta titanium face insert. The Titleist 907 D2 driver face insert is thinner at the top than at the bottom to promote a higher launch and lower spin rate for longer drives. The D2 version of the 907 incorporates all the features of the D1, with the only difference being that the head design is more of a classic rounded and less triangular shape. This still increases the moment of inertia but also allows the better player to work the ball left and right more than the D1.
The Titleist 907 D2 driver is certainly a more traditional shape than the D1 and for better players, and those who slice the ball, it will perform better too. At address we thought the shape was very classy, as all Titleist drivers are. There is a wide range of stock shafts and each of them performs well so get custom fitted if you can. Forgiveness was very good across the face and you can shape the ball both ways. Overall the Titleist 907 D2 driver is a very good club, but for us it just seems to lack that something special for us to put it above it's rivals. Titleist die-hards will love it, but we think there are better drivers out there for the same money.

Very nice looking club that performs just as well. It sits behind the ball well and looks like it can hit the ball along way which just breeds confidence. If you get the correct shaft in it, then there aren't any better drivers out there.

The Titleist 907 D2 had a lack of distance. You can get better value investing on others.
