The TaylorMade Rocketballz Driver combines speed and adjustability and is designed to appeal to a wide range of players.
The modern, aerodynamically shaped clubhead is fitted with TaylorMade's patented FCT or Flight Control Technology that allows the golfer to easily adjust the performance angles: face angle, lie and loft. The FCT means the Rocketballz Driver can be changed into any one of 8 settings via the FCT sleeve and allow a range of 60 yards of side-to-side flight adjustment.
The TaylorMade Rocketballz Driver also features Inverted Cone Technology, or ICT, that is milled directly into the back of the clubface. The ICT enlarges the portion of the clubface that delivers high COR (Coefficient of Restitution) creating faster ball speeds and improving the forgiveness of the driver.
Like the previous R11 and Burner Superfast 2.0 drivers, the Rocketballz driver features a white crown colour and black PVD clubface. This contrast is designed to allow for easier alignment and aim at address, especially in lower light whilst also making the clubhead look 2% larger. The white colour also eliminates "hot spots" caused by sunlight that tend to reflect on gloss-finish metalwoods.
The TaylorMade Rocketballz driver is paired with a 50g shaft and lightweight grip that combine to produce a club that weighs less than 300g. TaylorMade rebalanced the Rocketballz driver with a slightly higher swing-weight that will result in more swing speed for most golfers. With a length of 46 inches, a slight draw-bias, the Rocketballz is designed to offer ultimate playability without sacrifcing feel.

The TaylorMade RBZ Rocketballz Driver succeeds the Burner Superfast 2.0 driver and the standard version is a lot better. At address it has a more rounded head and it sits behind the ball very nicely and the white head/black face colour scheme makes it very easy to align.
Thankfully TaylorMade have reduced the length of the shaft by half an inch to 46 inches so even though it feels long, it is much more manageable and that will mean more accuracy.
It also means less weight and the combination of a light head, shaft and grip makes this is a light club at under 300 grams. The lie is also down a degree and a half and combined with the shorter shaft length you feel much more comofrtable over the ball.
On the course the Rocketballz Driver felt and sounded very good and the ball flight was a little on the high side. However using the adjustable hosel on the RBZ driver we were able to take some loft off to reduce the height, although this did change the lie angle of the club, but that was OK.
The standard Matrix X-Con 5 shaft is better than recent stock shafts on TaylorMade's standard models but still not as good as the TP version so make sure you get fitted for the correct one for your swing.
Overall the TaylorMade RBZ Rocketballz Driver is a very good club and one we would recommend.
