The OS is an oversize cavity back iron that combines three key technologies to deliver fantastic feel, tremendous forgiveness and an improved CG location making it easier to launch the ball on a high, long, straight flight. Launched late this year for 2005, the rac family of irons utilizes TaylorMade's renowned innovation in technology and caters for golfers of all abilities. TaylorMade's patented rac technology allows TaylorMade engineer?s to channel impact vibration to strategic areas of the clubhead, equaling unparalleled feel. These thin Feel Pockets dispose of unwanted vibration more efficiently, resulting in an amazingly soft-yet-solid feel at impact. The OS Iron's substantial Tuned Performance Cartridge allows TaylorMade engineers to save a massive 32 grams of weight, which is redistributed to strategic points around the perimeter of the clubhead, boosting the clubhead's MOI to deliver extreme forgiveness on off-centre hits. Thanks to the Tuned Performance Cartridge, the new rac OS delivers the highest MOI of any oversized cavity back that TaylorMade has ever created, equalling maximum forgiveness. Additionally, the pocket in which the large Tuned Performance Cartridge is placed extends into the rear, lower portion of the clubface, so that the side wall of the Tuned Performance Cartridge supports the ultra-thin clubface at impact. The OS Iron's low, deep CG position makes it easier to launch the ball high and long. Additional benefits of the ultra-thin clubface are increased power and enhanced arc vibration control. The OS Iron's oversize clubhead incorporates a strong top-line and slightly wider sole, which contributes to its powerful appearance and the square, substantial way that the head sets up behind the ball, which inspires confidence at address. Generous offset makes it easy to square the clubface to the ball at impact, promoting an extremely straight, accurate trajectory.
