TaylorMade rac MB Steel Shaft Irons

Engineered for skilled players, the rac MB is a coin-forged, muscleback blade that incorporates TaylorMade's unique rac technology, which controls and tunes the feel of each club through the shape and location of Feel Pockets positioned in the back of the clubhead. Beyond great feel, the rac MB was engineered to offer the best possible combination of workability and looks available. It benefits from its coin-forged method of production, a forging process wherein, after traditional double-striking, the forged steel is slowly compressed between two dies, which precisely forms the steel into the shape of a clubhead. The advantage of coin forging is that the resulting clubhead is both exceedingly beautiful and extremely consistent in detail. Features of the iron include a forward centre of gravity for maximum workability from right-to-left, left-to-right, a narrow sole that performs from all lie conditions combined with a blunt leading edge that resists digging. The rac MB's great looks are the result of a slim top-line preferred by tour pros and skilled amateurs in a traditional, smaller head-size and profile with a highly polished, nickel-chrome-plated finish and a progressive offset from long-irons to wedge.

What Golfalot Says

For those who like a classic look to their irons combined with performance then these are the irons for you. They are hybrids of blades and cavity backs, but more towards the blade end of the scale, although they don't feel like blades. As they are forged, you get a much better feel than cast clubs and the wedge and sand-wedge give great feedback for those touch shots around the green. The mid-irons are great and the long irons are solid and the heads a fairly compact so these are definitely for the better player. Even though our set wasn't brand new we still got good grip on the ball from the grooves as the cover of our ball showed later! Our set had stiff True Temper Dynamic Golf S300 shafts, which made the set a little heavy for our liking, but overall a good investment, particulary if you went for the MC/CB combo set and had these irons for 6-SW.
