TaylorMade's r5 dual line of fairway woods complement TaylorMade's new r5 dual Type D and r5 dual Type N drivers. Like the drivers, the r5 dual fairway woods are constructed of titanium, and employ performance elements derived from TaylorMade's innovative TLC technology, first introduced in the r7 quad driver. r5 dual fairway woods are engineered with two TaylorMade Launch Control (TLC) cartridges that are pre-configured and permanently installed in the rear section of the sole. These TLC cartridges are strategically located and weighted to increase the clubhead's MOI, and to position the centre of gravity (CG) both low and deep, making it easy to launch the ball smoothly and cleanly off the turf on a straight, high and long-carrying ball flight. This delivers the highest combination of COR and MOI of any fairway wood TaylorMade has ever created. This combination of high COR and high MOI makes the r5 dual fairways woods both exceptionally long and exceptionally forgiving on mis-hits. r5 dual fairway woods are equipped with TaylorMade's high-performance M.A.S. 2 Fairway shaft and TaylorMade TGT grip. The lightweight and tip-soft shaft encourages added swing speed and ball speed for increased distance. The TGT grip is formulated from a special, high-traction compound for all-weather traction, and features an intelligent hand/finger placement guide on the surface.

TaylorMade r5 Dual 3 Wood Graphite Shaft Fairway Wood Review

The TaylorMade R5 Dual fairway wood is an excellent club and for a titanium fairway wood we think it is good value. It looks good at address and with the two fixed weights in the rear of the club it delivers on it's promise of long high shots. High is the operative word here as it was certainly easy to get up in the air, but if you want a lower ball flight then the Rescue Fairways are probably the better ones to go for.

Bought the new TaylorMade R5 Dual 3 wood just after Christmas and what can I say, it is great. I could never hit a 3 wood of the deck before but now it just goes. Off the tee the TaylorMade R5 Dual is excellent - stright down the middle with good distance to boot, great for tight narrow fairways. I would recommend the TaylorMade R5 Dual to anyone looking at buying a new three wood. I managed to buy mine for a great £160 so there are bargins out there.
