The TaylorMade R11S Fairway Wood offers up to 24 different settings designed to promote maximum performance and increased distance.
Similar to the TaylorMade R11S Driver, the R11S Fairway Wood features a white crown, black PVD face in a classic shape. The white crown appears 2% larger and helps to eliminate glare and "hot spots" caused by sunlight. The contrast with the black PVD face aids address alignment, particularly in low light conditions.
The Taylormade R11S fairway wood features an Adjustable Sole Plate that combines with TaylorMade's Flight Control Technology to offer a more versatile fairway wood. The Adjustable Sole Plate provides the ability to adjust the face angle to 3 settings (±2°) independantly from the Flight Control Technology sleeve face angle setting. The FCT sleeve allows golfers to make an adjustment range of 3° of lie and 3° loft/6° face angle, that can result in up to 54 yards of side-to-side trajectory adjustment.
The TaylorMade R11S Fairway's Pull-Face construction creates a light, thin, fast clubface designed for high ball speeds. An Ultra-Thin Wall casting process means the crown on the R11S is 0.6mm at its thinnest point. This redistribution of weight means the centre-of-gravity can be moved forward, increasing ball speeds and creating better launch conditions.
The TaylorMade R11S Fairway is finished with a 70g Aldila RIP Phenom shaft with a medium-firm tip profile.

The TaylorMade R11S fairway wood features a revised Flight Control Technology hosel that increases the range of loft adjustment by an extra 0.5 degrees either way. Now this does not sound much but it does mean that the different settings have a bigger effect on the flight of the ball.
Performance wise the R11S fairway is similar to the R11 as the head size is similar and most of the other features are the same. It sits very well at address and the sound and feel is good without being spectacular.
The adjustable sole plate is still there and only features 3 settings whereas the R11S driver has 5 and it would be good to have seen that in the R11S fairway, even though we are still not convinced by the merits of this feature.
Overall unless you need some more settings on your hosel it is probably not worth upgrading from the R11, but if you are in the market for a better player fairway then this is worth considering.
