TaylorMade Penta TP Golf Ball

The TaylorMade Penta TP golf ball has been designed to give the better player performance in five key areas: driving, long-irons, mid-irons, short-irons and around the greens. The first golf ball featuring five solid-layers, the TaylorMade Penta TP delivers in every aspect of golf ball performance. The five layers of the Penta TP consist of the Cover, Outer Mantle, Middle Mantle, Inner Mantle and Core, all of which combine to give tour level performance for every level of player.

The Penta TP boasts a soft Urethane Cover that promotes the coveted combination of lower launch angle and higher spin-rate with the tour soft feel. Layer 2 is the Outer Mantle that has been designed by TaylorMade to give the Penta TP unparalleled control with the shorter irons and because it is positioned just under the cover it is easy to compress giving the added advantage of greater distance for players with slower swings.

The Middle Mantle of the Penta TP promotes mid-launch and mid-spin from the middle irons for supreme control of direction and trajectory whilst the Inner Mantle promotes high launch and low spin from the longer irons for the high, soft landing ball flight needed to stop shots from distance on the green. The final element of the Penta TP is the core, the true engine of the ball, an extremely soft, low compression layer that promotes high launch and low spin from the driver, the ideal launch conditions to promote maximum carry and distance.

The five layers of the Penta TP are strategically positioned to give maximum benefit for all levels of player and the added spin and control from short range is especially important as the new USGA and R&A groove rules take effect in 2010.

TaylorMade have also incorporated their LDP technology into the Penta TP to improve aerodynamic flow on common driver mis-hits from the top of the club. TaylorMade have tested the Penta TP extensively with their stable of Tour Pros’s and it has received a unanimous thumbs up, being put into play already by Sergio Garcia, Retief Goosen, Y.E. Yang, Justin Rose and Jason Day but the Penta TP is not just for Tour players, with the multi layer technology making it the ideal choice for every level of golfer.
