The TaylorMade Burner SuperFast 2.0 is the lightest driver Taylormade has produced to promote faster swing speed and more distance. The ultra-large 4,550 square millimetres face and low-drag aerodynamics are designed to increase swing speed, a higher launch angle and lower spin-rate, equaling a dramatic boost in distance. The two best distance-producing technologies in years are combined in this high-MOI driver, helping to make Burner SuperFast 2.0 five yards longer than the original Burner SuperFast.
The TaylorMade Burner SuperFast 2.0 driver is newly shaped to deliver the benefit of Dual Crown Technology — designed to create a lower Centre of Gravity to promote a higher launch angle and lower spin-rate, the launch conditions that promote greater distance — but with a more conventional head shape. In addition, the TaylorMade Burner 2.0 incorporates a longer shaft, lighter weight and more usable face area.
The clubhead's Ultra-Thin Wall (UTW) construction combined with a more triangular address shape and profile shape allow improved performance and playability. The larger face is important in light of the fact that the longer club-length makes it more challenging for the average player to make square contact consistently; the larger face provides more area with which to strike the ball. To improve performance without sacrificing feel and playability, the Taylormade Burner SuperFast 2.0 enhances playability and a moderate draw bias with a "measured square" face angle. The high-MOI titanium clubhead also features TaylorMade's Inverted Cone Technology, milled directly into the back of a clubface. The Inverted Cone expands the area of the clubface that delivers high ball speed, meaning that you can miss the centre of the clubface by a lot and still generate high ball speed and long distance.
The TaylorMade Burner SuperFast 2.0 features a distinct white crown. When paired with its black PVD-finish clubface, it provides optimum contrast for easier and more consistently accurate alignment. The crown colour also eliminates high-intensity "hot spots" caused by reflected sunlight that afflicts gloss-finish metalwoods.
A vital upgrade to the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast is the new Winn Lite grip that weighs just 25 grams, yet it sacrifices nothing in terms of feel and traction. At 279 grams, it is the lightest driver TaylorMade has ever produced. Also critical to the Burner SuperFast 2.0 driver's performance is its Matrix Ozik XCon 4.8 shaft, which is both ultra-light and tip-soft, helping the golfer generate more ball speed, a higher launch angle and more spin to promote more distance.

The TaylorMade Burner Superfast 2.0 driver not only features a change in head colour to white, but also several new technical features to create what TaylorMade say is their lightest and longest range of woods to date. The Burner Superfast 2.0 driver features a new head design that is faster through the air due to improved aerodynamics.
Compared to the original Burner Superfast driver, the crown is more rounded and a little taller at the front, resulting in smoother air flow. The back of the head is lower and slightly further back to move the centre of gravity back and down to promote a higher launch. The new shape also means that the crown can be made in a single piece and the wall reduced to just 0.6mm thick in places, which is 40% less than similar drivers in the market.
To create more speed the Superfast 2.0 comes with a 45 gram Matrix X-con 4.8 shaft that is not only lighter, but longer at 46.5 inches. The total weight of the club is just 279 grams and this combination of head and shaft creates more clubhead speed and therefore more distance, albeit possibly at the expense of some accuracy.
The big visual change of course is the white colour of Burner Superfast head and the matt white finish also looks bigger and reduces glare or ‘hot spots’ where you get the reflection of the sun if you are lucky enough to play in it regularly. At address the Burner Superfast 2.0 driver looked quite triangular, which might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we liked it. The white head and black face was certainly very easy to line up at address. The face is a little more closed than the R11 driver to give the ball flight a little draw bias, or to make it go straight for all you faders out there.
The club did feel very light and it took a while to get used to the longer shaft, but once we did the distance was very impressive. The feel and forgiveness at impact was very good even if the sound was a little dull due to the shape and size of the head. The Burner Superfast 2.0 driver is available in 9 and a half, 10 and a half or 13 degree models and is great fun and well worth checking out. However on the models we tested the paint on the back of the sole of the club started to wear off so look after them.
Better players can join in too as the Burner Superfast 2.0 driver is also available in a TP version which has a 1 inch shorter shaft, a 1 degree open face and a fixed toe weight to stop the clubhead turning over at impact to create a neutral or fade bias for better players. We really liked the TP version as the head shape was a little more rounded and it sat a little more square at address. The shorter shaft was more manageable and we think better players should consider this even over the R11 driver.

I loved the white look of the Burner SuperFast 2.0 but I think the TaylorMade designers have overdone the shaping at the back of the head. What that gains in performance is certainly to the detriment of looks at address. Having said that the performance was very good, a solid sound from the clubhead and good distance.

The Superfast 2.0 is exactly what it says on the tin, super fast. The club is built for speed and does not disappoint. It is light in your hands and noticably longer than a standard driver. The white crown will not be for everyone, but is certainly worth consideration. I found the graphics on the crown a bit off putting, but certainly did not take away from the performance. The ball went far with little effort. I enjoyed being able to swing a little more controlled and not give up any noticable distance, perhaps still gaining a few yards. When you begin to swing harder, you begin to battling to keep the ball flight under control. Overall, the club is perfectly suited to a mid handicap golfer that has a consistant swing.
