The Ping Tour-W Brushed Silver wedge features a tungsten weight in the toe of the club which increases the moment of inertia and improves forgiveness. The use of this high-density material also allows the club to be slightly smaller for increased playability out of various conditions. By using a vertical Custom Tuning Port (CTP), Ping engineers were able to move the centre of gravity down and forward to allow the correct head rotation during a shot. Designed with a traditional tear drop shape, the Ping Tour-W Brushed Silver wedge allow golfers to be more creative on pitch and chip shots around the green. The Tour-W wedge features a patented hosel notch that controls the bend point for precise loft and lie adjustments.
Average rating for this product from 4 reviews
The Ping Tour-W wedge is a much more conventional looking wedge than you normal Ping irons. From a variety of lies the club performed very well and even though there are tungsten weights placed in the back of the head, you did not really feel them when swinging the club. The variations in bounce meant there was a club for every lie and even from very tight lies the club slipped under the ball easily. The Ping Tour-W wedge delivered some lovely floating shots that sat down very quickly so the feel was very good for a cast club, but probably not as good as a premium forged wedge. However for Ping die-hards, the Tour-W wedge is the best wedge they have produced to date.
