The Ping S59 irons is the first traditional blade the company has offered since the 1960s, Ping assures golfers the S59 includes all the innovation, quality and performance they've come to expect since Ping pioneered cavity back irons.
The S59 design uses a clean, classic shaped clubhead to provide the feel and ball flight characteristics better players demand. A bar positioned across the back of the compact head and a centre of gravity located close to the face ensures better players have that solid feel and distance control they need to compete at a high level. It even has a small cavity to provide the forgiveness every golfer needs and a slight progressive offset to make the long irons easier to hit.
A thin top line and narrow, cambered sole give the S59 irons a traditional blade appearance. It is further distinguished by a buffed sole and flange that contrast with a sandblasted face and top line, giving it a unique finish that adds to its appeal.
The Ping S59 irons are defintely the best looking iron Ping have produced and are very easy to use. They are blade-looking but perform more like a cavity back hybrid. Performance is good throughout the S59 set, although better players will want a little more feel in their short irons. Given the Ping S59 is aimed at the lower handicappers, we think the cast heads don't give as much feedback as the forged cavity/blade hybrids offered by competitors. However better players will also want custom fitting which is another Ping strength, so if you are a Ping die-hard you'll love them. We like them too, but we feel there are slightly better models out there.

The Ping S59 irons were a decent set that was easy to use. Solid and performed well. One of the nicest looking Ping iron's I've seen. Sit well and get the ball up and on a penetration flight very easily. The feel at impact is also quite good. A bit surprised with how much I liked them.

I have returned to Ping and have found the S59 clubs to be excellent from 3 to PW. I also have the tour lob wedges and the look is the best Ping have done in a long time. Any sub 10 handicap player can only become more consistent with these clubs.
