Ping Rapture V2 Irons

Ping Ping Golf Clubs Ping Videos Read Reviews
4 stars out of 5 (Based on 4 reviews)

The Ping Rapture V2 Irons result from Ping's investment in multi-metal technology that combines the key properties of various materials to deliver a club that produces an optimal performance.

The Rapture V2 iron is made up or a tungsten sole weight, a titanium face and a stainless steel body to allow for an innovative game improvement design. The lightweight titanium face allows weight to be relocated to the wider tungsten sole that positions the centre of gravity ideally for a higher launch angle and increased MOI.

As a result the Ping Rapture V2 can incorporate stronger lofts to increase distance without sacrificing any control. The incorporation of a deeper Custom Tuning Port with elastomer inserts increases face stability for a solid feel and a uniform response across the whole clubface.

Ping Rapture V2 Irons Review

The Ping Rapture V2 Irons combine the key properties of various materials to deliver a club that Ping claims produces an optimal performance. The Rapture V2 iron is made up of a tungsten sole weight, a titanium face and a stainless steel body. The lightweight titanium face allows weight to be relocated to the wider tungsten sole that positions the centre of gravity ideally for a higher launch angle and increased MOI. As a result the Ping Rapture V2 can incorporate stronger lofts to increase distance without sacrificing any control. Ping have also introduced a variable offset throughout the set as John now explains. In addition a deeper Custom Tuning Port on the back of the clubface increases face stability and gives a solid feel across the whole clubface. These are ideal for higher handicappers as they are very easy to hit and the extra weight in the sole can get you out of most bad lies.

I bought a set 4 to PW after trying a friends. First time out I shot a gross 70 round Stowmarket golf club, par 69 and in the month that I've had them I have gone from 10.3 to 7.6. I am 63 and in the 40+ years I've played golf I have never had a club that is so easy to hit. They're not cheap and compared to my old Mizuno's they look chunky but they are the best.
