The Ping Rapture V2 driver represents the culmination of Ping's development of multi-metal technology that combines the key properties of the materials to maximise the performance of the club. The Rapture V2's 460 cc head combines a titanium body with external tungsten weight pads that are located at the back of the club, near the heel and toe. The weight pads position the centre of gravity to allow the Ping Rapture V2 to deliver a lower spin and high launch angle together with a higher MOI that improves both distance and accuracy. The head is plasma-welded and it's taller face has been machined to variable thicknesses to promote increased ball speed and is styled with an aggressively tapered crown featuring the Double-Rapture alignment aid.

Ping launched the original Rapture range in 2006 with the aim of combining a variety of materials to produce the most technologically advanced clubs they could. This proved popular and now Ping has improved these clubs further with the launch of the Rapture V2 range. The Ping Rapture V2 driver has probably undergone the biggest change. Gone is the composite graphite/titanium head in favour of an all titanium head with external tungsten weight pads instead of internal. Compared to the previous version, the head is slightly longer back to front with a higher MOI that improves both distance and accuracy. In our tests the Rpature V2 was a joy to hit and the new titanium head gave a great powerful sound at impact. Even with the increased stability in the head, it was still possible to move the ball left and right easily. If money is no object then this is one of the very best drivers on the market, but the Rapture V2 range does not come cheap and we are not sure this V2 is £100 better than the Ping G10 driver, which is fantastic in its own right.

The Ping Rapture V2 regular shaft driver is a very nice club. Great looks, sits nicely behind the ball, solid feel on all drives. A slightly lower trajectory than my King Cobra driver and is more expensive but unfortunately delivers very little extra distance.

Looks great, hits the ball high and long and don't sound like a tin can. Shaft's a bit bright but I can live with that. Love it.

Great driver. The trajectory was a bit high with the stock graphite shaft, but after installing a UST V2 shaft it is great. I was using a 10.5* Taylor but changed to a Rapture V2 with 9* of loft and the ball flight is perfect.

Great driver. The trajectory was a bit high with the stock graphite shaft, but after installing a UST V2 shaft it is great. I was using a 10.5* Taylormade r9 but switched to this Rapture V2 with 9* of loft and the ball flight is perfect.
