For those who prefer a classic look and feel, the PING M/B Wedges provide all the performance and versatility needed to hit some of the most difficult shots on the course. The variable-width sole combines with a classic look at address for the confidence to open the club face for delicate approach shots. This innovative design keeps the lead edge low when opening the club face to add loft, and provides the versatility to play full shots or chip shots, high shots or low shots. The mid-bounce (M/B) angle is perfect for all surfaces - and all swing types. So whether you have a steep angle of attack or you prefer to sweep it, the new PING Wedges provide the performance you demand around the green. An elongated cavity with a Custom Tuning Port (CTP) provides forgiveness and swingweight adjustability. Feel and feedback are also enhanced as the walls of the CTP help control club face vibration. Large U-shaped grooves effectively displace foreign matter and allow maximum club face contact with the golf ball to optimize spin and lift in rough and wet conditions for more control.
The Ping M/B wedges fit nicely into the wedge market between the chunky game improvement wedges and the blade preformance wedges. It did everything very well although it did seem very heavy compared to normal wedges. That was OK for some shots out of heavy rough, or if you are a bit of a nervous chipper, where the extra weight will come in handy. However on other shots the Ping M/B wedge seemed like hard work!

This Ping M/B wedge felt a lot heavier than my Cleveland wedge. This was not a bad thing as it made me swing through the ball every time. It sits behind the ball well and is very easy to hit but I didn't think the feel I got from it was anywhere near as soft as I get from my current wedges. Still a decent club that will suit a lot of people.
