In the G2 Iron Series, you'll find the latest PING technology in multiple options to match your ability. The stainless steel, perimeter weighted iron series consists of three models. The G2 - for golfers of all abilities, the G2 EZ - for golfers with slower swing speeds, and the G2L - for ladies with slower swing speeds. Also new are the G2HL (High Launch) irons (2-iron through 5-iron), which are designed to be blended in with other models to make long iron shots easier to hit. The extra-wide soled clubs provide a more forgiving bounce (which helps resist digging) and utilize a centre of gravity (CG) positioned away from the face to launch the ball higher. An undercut cavity helps increase inertia for maximum forgiveness. The loft of each HL iron is equivalent to its traditional version (i.e. 3HL = 3 iron). G2HL irons will also be sold separately. The multiple offerings within the G2 Series and the G2 HL long irons allow golfers to build a set that fits their game.
Average rating for this product from 3 reviews
The Ping G2 irons are a pleasant surprise. Gone are the clunky designs and instead there is this great looking club with loads of options for sole width, etc. The standard Ping G2 iron provides a good solid strike and it was easy to move the ball high, low, left and right. From above they look liek any normal game improvement set and it is only from below you see the notch just below the hosel. The HL versions had a very wide sole and were a bit clunky, so unless you have trouble getting the ball airborne, I would stick with the G2s. If you get your Ping G2 irons custom fit then every black weight on the club is matched to ensure consistency through the set to match your swing.
