Yet again Ping have really delivered for the mid to high handicappers with this excellent fairway wood. The technology draws heavily on the changes made in the G15 driver and the results are similarly positive. Ping promise this is an easy club to get up in there and so it proves. It performs well both off the deck and from a tee and gives a consistent enough performance to be a decent replacement for the driver (although you won’t have a lot of trouble hitting the G15 driver). I actually felt this was consistently longer than the old G10 fairway wood and that, combined with the excellent forgiveness, should be enough to persuade a lot of people to upgrade. I’d certainly consider making room for it my bag.

The new Ping G15 range of fairway woods have kept the best of the excellent G10 fairway and improved on some aspects to give a truly versatile fairway wood that should appeal to all types of player. With a slightly shallower face (that Ping tell us contribute to increased MOI) that adherents of the G10 will notice the club looks slightly more assured at address than its predecessor and it appears to provide a slightly more elevated trajectory from a solid strike. The G15 is as forgiving as the G10 fairway and is still pretty impressive in the distance stakes.
