The Nikon 1000A S laser rangefinder is the most innovative and advanced laser rangefinder that Nikon have yet released.
Average rating for this product from 1 reviews
The Nikon 1000A S is a top quality rangefinder that is accurate to within 0.2 of a yard. It is really very simply to use. Just point the rangefinder at the target and push the button and you get an exact measurement to the target. The Active Brightness Control Viewfinder makes it very easy to read the information provided whatever the light conditions. It is powered by a normal battery that will last for ages so you don't have to worry about recharging it before you play.
The Nikon 1000A S also has several new features that really add to the usuability of this type of device. Firstly with the scanning function you hold the button down and scan the rangefinder across the targets and the distance readings change so you dont have to stop and restart to get a distance to more than one target. Great if you want a yardage to a flag and the bunker in front of it. Secondly this model also measures elevation and has 3 modes for this. You can either see the distance direct to the flag including the elevation or the distance along the ground as if the flag was on the same level as you.
However the real magic comes with the mode that shows you the actual distance and then also the elevation adjusted distance. For instance a shot of 150 yards uphill would be shown as an adjusted distance of 158 yards to allow for the slope and that would be the effective yardage you have to play too. It is very accruate and ideal for helping you work out how much to allow for elevation changes.
However even though it has a competition mode to switch the elevation function off, the Nikon 1000A S rangefinder is not actually currently legal for use as it has the capability to do this measurement. We had intended to mark it down a star for this, but it is such a great device that we won't as it does everything you would expect and more and will be a valuable practice aid for serious golfers to use on the range or survey courses prior to playing.
