The Nike VR_S Driver is a bigger, deeper driver designed to produce more speed at impact for greater distance.

Nike's NexCOR technology originates from impact studies carried out by Nike engineers, mapping where golfers tend to hit the ball on the face. NexCOR's speed-expanding multi-thickness face design maximises distances a wide range of players. It also creates a bridge for ultra-hot, ultra-thin faces and unmatched ball speeds.

The Nike VR_S driver's aerodynamically engineered head design features a larger clubhead and deeper face. Combined with a longer, lighter 45.75" Fubuki graphite shaft, the Nike VR_S is built for greater speed and swing velocity.

The VR_S driver has an Adjustable Launch Angle thanks to Nike's STR8-Fit system that offers a 4-degree range of face angle adjustability.

Nike VR_S Driver Review

The Nike VR_S Driver is an improvement on the Machspeed Black as it now incoporates the STR8-Fit adjustable hosel that has been refined to be less obstrusive at address, which is a welcome change. The 8 settings give a wide range of influence on shot shape as they change the face angle, but not unfortunately the lie of the club.

The VRS driver head is more rounded and a little taller and the sole uses a modified version of the aerodynamic sole from the Machspeed to increase clubhead speed. It makes sense and also looks good.

At address the colour scheme features a silver face and shaft which does create a nice contrast to line up, even if the graphics could do with some more work.

On the course the sound and feel of the VRS_driver was very good although this is by no means a quiet driver, but at least the sound is more pleasant than piercing. Overall the VRS is a very competent driver and worth trying if you want a value for money adjustable driver.

Collected my R1 last Thursday, have spent a few hours up the range with the club since and I'm lost for words to describe how good this club is.
I'm a high handicapper and with all the tuning options on this club I've been able to find a setting that combats the slice I have off the tee. This club inspires confidence, even a strike from nearer the heel or toe still carries good distance.
This is a must buy for any golfer, I've tried the new Nike VR Covert and in comparison the TaylorMade offers so much more for the money.
