The Nike SQ Dymo range of fairway woods is aimed at the golfer who wants his club to look more like a fairyway wood than a driver. With club head size on the increase in the search for forgiveness through increased MOI a trade off in the performance of a larger head with respect to it’s interaction with the ground and therefore quality of strike has challenged designers. Nike’s team of engineers have overcome this problem with a revolutionalry sole design in the SQ Dymo range to minimise turf contact at impact whilst maintaining the MOI benefits of a larger head. The Quad Keel sole has four different quadrants to ensure golfers can make a clean contact from every type of lie.

The Nike SQ Dymo fairway woods are the replacement model for the excellent Sasquatch II fairway woods and we are in two minds as to whether they are an improvemnt. Visually we don't think they are as nice, but they probably feel a little better to hit as they seem to have a larger sweet spot. The cambered sole make it very easy to hit from lush lies or semi rough, although hitting from tight lies was probably easier with the flat sole of the Sasquatch II. The head looked very nice and it was easier to shape shots with the Nike SQ Dymo fairway woods than with the square version of this model. Overall pretty good, but there are better models on the market and if we had a Sasquatch II , then I would probably be tempted to stick with that.
