The Nike SasQuatch II fairway wood did give me a lower, more penetrating flight, but it was just not my cup of tea. It was Okay from both the tee and the fairway, but the ball didn't seem to come of the clubface with any authority. The alignment aid on the face is very good, but the club just doesn't sit right behind the ball and that does not give you any confidence to go ahead and hit it.

When I stood up to swing the Nike SasQuatch II 3-Wood I was immediately happy with two things. Firstly, at address the club has an excellent footprint and the slight extension of the back of the head instantly gave increased confidence. Secondly, after swinging the club the balance felt fantastic – perhaps ever so slightly heavier than an average 3-wood, it installed a good feeling and almost embarrassingly led to a slightly elongated pose after a good shot. The face is forgiving and even contact nearer the toe or heel still allowed the ball to get up and going down the middle. In general, the style, weight and sturdiness of the SasQuatch II fairway wood almost makes you think you have a little driver in your hands and teases you to go after it. Well worth investing in.
