Nike One Gold Golf Ball

The Nike One Golf golf ball combines three covers of varying width and material composition with an incredibly hot core. Over the past four years, golf ball technology has evolved from a primarily wound-ball construction to the solid core/two piece construction to the double-core/four piece construction. The features typically resulted in a ball that was relatively long off the tee or responsive around the green but no one had created a ball that could benefit golfers at the highest levels of performance at both ends of the course. Throughout extensive R&D studies, Nike determined that by varying the layers or covers surrounding the core they could induce different reactions from the ball when struck and this lead to the Nike One.

What Golfalot Says

The Nike One Gold is the higher spinning, softer feeling version of the Nike One ball. Around the greens it was excellent with great feel off the wedge and putter. On pitches and bunker shots you can generate a lot of spin, so ideal for slower swing speeds who want to generate that extra grip. On longer shots, even though it is higher spin, it didn't balloon as much into the wind as some other high spin premium balls. However if you hit it high, then the Nike One Black is for you. The cover lasts well and although the distance was very good, it wasn't amazing. Overall a good buy for the better player.

The Nike One Gold golf ball feels more like a Tour ball than the Nike One Black. Around the greens it had a great soft feel, but a little too much spin for me. I could get it to grab on chips and long pitch approaches spun back very easily. It was OK in the wind and lost a bit of distance, but the distance was good for a soft feeling ball. Overall solid but not spectacular.
