The Mizuno MX-560 driver has a unique geometric 460cc head-shape solution that delivers extreme forgiveness without sacrificing distance. The Mizuno MX-560 has a re-engineered ‘bulge and roll’ design to the face that was key in improving consistency from off centre strikes. A Power Bar construction, reminiscent of Mizuno’s original T-ZOID design re-enforces the crown and provides a distinct alignment aid. Mizuno discovered that the geometry of previous square and geometrically influenced drivers sacrificed distance in their quest for maximum MOI (resistance to twisting). A study of geometry proved that an optimal design could both maximize up/down and toe/heel MOI without a reduction in ball speeds and driving distance. A CNC milled plasma welded CORTECH face delivering the maximum R&A / USGA allowable energy transfer enhances Mizuno’s MX-560 distance further still.

Mizuno MX-560 Driver Review

The boffins at Mizuno discovered that the geometry of some drivers sacrificed distance in their quest for maximum MOI. They came up with the shape of the Mizuno MX-560 driver that maximizes up/down and toe/heel MOI without a reduction in ball speeds and driving distances. We found that this club was certainly very easy to hit and went higher than the MP600, even if it was a little bit on the noisy side. Better players will like the lower lofts of the MX-560 with the square face alignment, whereas the higher lofts at 10 and a half degrees upwards have a slightly closed face for a bit more forgiveness.

What a noise! You need ear plugs to hit the Mizuno MX-560 driver. It is definitely for the high handicapper, as the ball just zooms up into the air. If you struggle to get the ball up in the air then this club will do it for you. Easy to hit with a head that looks massive. The club doesn't seem to weigh anything, but when you hit the ball the noise isn't the best. Sounds cheap and tinny.
