The Mizuno MX-25 irons has the improved feel of its MX Grain Flow Forged irons with the selection of a new steel, 10% softer than used in its award winning predecessor the MX-23. The Mizuno R&D Team utilizes a new Grain Flow Forged 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel and engineered a H.E.M.I. COG Pocket Cavity that is wider, deeper, and longer than the previous version to move critical weight further down and away from the face for easy launch and improved playability in the MX-25. Also, the extreme perimeter weighting in the forms a large sweet spot area for forgiveness on off centre shots, and a new, “X” back cavity pad delivers added mass behind the hitting area for increased feel, distance control, and accuracy. The Mizuno MX-25 features a triple-cut sole design for consistent playability from all types of lies. A bevelled leading edge, bevelled trailing edge, and cambered mid-sole create three distinct surfaces that reduce the turf contact area, which, in turn, minimizes turf drag and digging. The milled pocket cavity of creates an extra wide pocket in the long irons that allows the MX-25 redistribution of 30g of weight away from the clubface, which creates a lower, deeper center of gravity thereby increasing the launch angle for maximum forgiveness and a high trajectory in the long irons (3-5). In the 6 and 7 irons, a wide pocket allows for the redistribution of 20g around the club head for the perfect combination of forgiveness and control, and the Solid Power design in the 8-PW give players enhanced control and workability in the scoring irons. Through technological improvements Mizuno was able to use Grain Flow Forged 1025E Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel in the MX-25, the same material now used in their legendary MP line of irons, providing an unmatched soft, solid feel and added durability. The club head is double nickel chrome plated with a mirror satin finish, and MX-25 modified U-Grooves produce the ideal spin rate from maximum playability.
