The Mizuno MX-17 combines a high flying utility based long iron, with solid shorter irons to deliver a set of unparalleled ease of use and forgiveness. The wrap around pocket cavity is Mizuno's widest ever, creating a centre of gravity deep enough to forgive strikes from a large area on the clubface. A wide sole encourages a high ball flight, while the rounded leading edge enables a commendable level of versatility. The Mx-17 have a one piece construction through the set and a thicker face in the hitting zone that add a satisfyingly solid feel at impact. The shorter irons (7-PW) are solid in construction with a higher centre of gravity for manoeuvrability and attacking ball flight. Progressive offset and draw bias throughout the set complete Mizuno's most forgiving model, the MX-17 irons.

I have had these Mizuno MX-17 irons for three months now. To begin with I thought they were the answer everthing. Very forgiving, and I became a lot more of a consistant ball striker. The ball left the club face on a very high soaring flight. Problem solved I thought. The only draw back is that I`ve lost a lot of distance in my long irons because the ball does fly so high. Playing into wind one day I took my 3-iron off the tee and was out hit by my 46 year old playing partner hitting a 6-iron. I`m 23! So contemplating getting a 1 or 2-iron to compensate. Other than that the Mizuno MX-17 irons are fantastic for a high handicapper. If you`re already a good ball striker maybe think about a normal cavity back instead of pocket.
