The Mizuno JPX Wedge is principally designed to fit in with the JPX-800 irons set and the gap that it creates with its 45 degree pitching wedge.

The JPX gap wedge starts at 49 degrees and contains all the features that you find in the JPX irons. All the irons feature the 360 head grind and as such the wedges have a slightly high leading edge so they won’t be suited to playing on firm golf courses, but the gap wedge in particular will come in useful for regular play.

The look is a little on the chunky side for our tastes, even though this is aimed at higher handicappers who may have a wedge phobia. However if you can face a smaller traditional looking wedge then we would recommend adding the JPX gap wedge to your JPX-800 set and then a sand and lob wedge from the excellent Mizuno T-11 wedge range instead.

The grooves on the face conform to the 2010 condition of competition regulations.
