The Leica Pinmaster laser rangefinder is a quality rangefinder that does an excellent job of measuring distances.

The laser target is simple easy to measure using just 2 clicks of a button. The red target square and figures display is easy to see and use, even if it is not the sexiest looking dispay we have even seen.

However the exterior of the Leica Pinmaster is sexy and the unit is slimmer and more compact than most of the other rangefinders we have used so that makes it possible to slip easily into a pocket instead of returning to a case or bag.

The Pinmaster comes with a free 1 year accidental warranty and 5 year manufacturer warranty, so if this is important to you then it will be worth the premium pricing, as that is the only downside on what is otherwise a very good rangefinder.

For a high price rangefinder I’m very disappointed in this rangefinder. I often get false readings picking up distances to objects, trees, houses, you name it, behind the pin. The slope adjustment seems to work well when you can get a good read on the pin. I get bad readings probably one out of every three or four tries. When you get bad readings they can be off by 20-50 yards. Not what you want in any rangefinder, let alone one that cost this much from such a great optics company. My guess is the optics are good, but the software is sub par.
