The Kikkor Dress Sneaker golf shoe follows in the footsteps (sorry) of the street golf shoe fashion started by Ecco. This vibrant company have produced an extremely comfortable shoe that still looks classy enough to wear at any course. The all white version is not our thing, but the other 2 styles are more stylish.
The stand out feature is the Diacon Embedded Spike System which features rubber spikes that are part of the shoe sole and these are the key to the comfort of the shoe. Even on very firm links courses the Dress Sneaker was very comfortable to wear and provided plenty of grip. So far the spikes are wearing well and should continue to do so if you avoid walking on concrete where you can. If they do wear out then you have a great pair of sneakers for the astroturf range matts or general use.
The lateral support was good, although maybe not as much as a more structured golf shoe. You need to be careful with the dress black versions as some of the shiny black finish has already come off one of the toes entirely due to my scuffing it, but the looks are now not as good. A universal 'matt' finish might be better for this colour style.
The leather is shower repellent at best and not really waterproof, but if you play in dry conditions or just want a casual pair of golf shoes for comfort or taking on holiday then the Kikkor Dress Sneaker is hard to beat. Check out their site for some amazing trick shots too.
