I used an old wooden Stan Thompson Ginty 7 wood for years with superb results from the light rough. Unfortunately, after a couple of replacements I couldn't find another. By accident I came across the John Letters Rough Rider. It had the same V sole for cutting through rough and having tried various modern well advertised options with special soles I was sceptical. How wrong I was. It is now my favourite club. If I am near the edge of the fairway I always hope to be in the semi or light rough. The John Letters Rough Rider seems to clear its own path and the ball comes out as clean and as straight as possible. I would thoroughly recommend the Rough Rider to any golfer to use from the light rough.
