What The Manufacturer Says

The Hippo HEX² driver is the most innovative new driver design in the history of the company. The Hippo HEX² features a unique hexagonal shape that allows optimum weight distribution to reduce the effect of side spin and provide more energy transfer from club face to ball resulting in the straightest and longest driver ever designed. The aerodynamically shaped 460cc club head is designed to reduce drag on the backswing and generate higher head speed at impact. Hippo’s patented Integrated Technology marries ultra light woven 3K carbon fibre radius side rails to a 6-4 titanium crown and sole that is welded to the super hard forged Beta Ti face allowing the thinnest face possible for maximum COR and distance. Six grams of additional weight at the aft corners provide an extremely high Moment of Inertia (MOI) and help stabilize the club head on miss hits, ensuring straighter drives.

I first tried the Hippo Hex2 driver at PGA show in Orlando in January. This club definitely isn't for the faint of heart! First you have to get used to the radical looks, then the report of clubface meeting ball is about the loudest you'll ever hear!!! But, Oh my...what a sweet result! I have the 9 degree with stiff Mitsubishi shaft with a low kick point. Drives are low and straight (I may switch to 10 degree or regular flex shaft) and seem to absolutely rocket off the clubface. This driver will produce unreal results for more skilled and confident players. I would not recommend it for high handicappers as any deviation in grip, tempo, or weight shift produced unwanted results. I personally own eight drivers and do product testing for Golfing Magazine in the U.S. The Hippo Hex2 will be in my bag this year...I am most impressed.
