The Cobra S3 Max irons may have just created a 'super game-improvement' category in irons. The oversized heads and heavy offset combined with a lighter club weight and wider sole than the standard S3 model, make the S3 Max irons easy on the eye and easy to get in the air. We didn't notice a huge difference in forgiveness when comparing them to the S3 models, but the rail-sole will offer more forgiveness for players that find themselves in the rough more often than not. The option of the 5 and 6 hybrid, in addition to the 4, was a nice addition and will appeal to those golfers who struggle with longer irons, although we found the longer irons in this set very forgiving.
