The Cobra Speed Series drivers are the first driver line designed to optimize every player’s unique ball speed for unmatched distance and accuracy. The Cobra Speed Series consists of four models, each designed for distinct player types and their specific ball speeds. Cobra Speed Drivers are available in the following models – X/Speed, F/Speed and M/Speed. M/Speed Drivers are also available in Women’s and Senior’s models. In addition, Cobra offers an XX/Speed Driver, which is the club of choice for the Cobra Long Drive Team. The Cobra Speed Series has golf’s largest face area which means a hotter clubface with greater forgiveness. A wide body sole design takes the driver’s centre of gravity lower and further back in the clubhead by pushing the Dual Weighting System inserts back and out towards the perimeter of the sole. This generates higher MOI (Moment of Inertia) for greater clubhead stability, improved accuracy and unmatched forgiveness. The wide body sole design also promotes high launch for optimal distance. Exclusive MRLC Technology in the Milled Rhombus L-Cup laser weld face insert, featuring an ultra thin perimeter, delivers greater face flex for increased ball speed. Laser welding creates a lighter, thinner weld line for a hotter, more consistent response across the 9 Points on the clubface. The Cobra Speed Series unique fast-back crown design slants back, moving the centre of gravity even lower and further back in the head to create a higher launch angle and low spin ball flight for optimal launch and carry. The Cobra F/Speed Driver has a customized, co-branded graphite shaft that is tuned to that model to optimize the performance, resulting in greater accuracy and distance. The weight, compound and design of the grip is also specifically tuned to provide the perfect feel and performance for the Cobra F/Speed Series model/player type.
The Cobra F/Speed driver is a good development of the SS and SZ drivers. Looks -wise it is similar although the head seems longer front to back. The F/Speed is shallow than the X/Speed but deeper than the M/Speed and is aimed at the average player. It was very easy to hit right across the face with no real loss of distance on off centre hits. These Cobra speed drivers are meant to be custom fitted to your swing so make sure you speak to a Cobra rep or knowledgable salesman so that you get the most out of this great club. The F/Speed was more forgiving than the X/Speed due to the slightly more closed face and the trajectory was a strong and powerful when faced with an into the wind shot. Like previous Cobra drivers, the only downside was the noise at impact. If you like making an impression with a big crash sound then this driver is for you!

This Cobra F/Speed driver is the hottest, straightest face ever hit! It has great distance and easy to set up.

Just got fit for a new driver using a launch monitor (highly recommended) and after trying several of the newest drivers, I ended up with the Cobra F-speed 10.5 degree. I really didn't think I'd like the F-speed as I'd demo'ed it a few days earlier and didn't quite like the sound/feel. However, when going through the fitting process I was definitely hitting two drivers much better than the rest - my existing Ping G2 (11.5 degree NV65S) and the F-speed 10.5. The new R7 425 felt great but didn't have as high a launch angle hence the total distance was about 10-15 yards shorter than the F-speed. Again, I highly recommend the launch monitor fitting process regardless of which driver you're interested in. I bought the Cobra F-speed since it peformed the best interms of overall distance (~265 yds. max) and accuracy and because my son laid claim to my G2 recently (the G5's didn't perform as well for me.)
