I have just added the 60 degree Cleveland Tour Action 588 lob wedge to my 49 and 53 wedges, and it is just perfectly matched. The lob wedge does not have too much bounce and the soft feel off the RTG face really enables you to feel the shot and put some spin on the ball if you want too. The 49 degree is perfect for chips round the green. Easy to see why the Cleveland Tour Action 588 wedge has been the number one on Tour for so long.

I have been a Cleveland wedge player since before I can remember and the Tour Action 588 RTG wedge is just another quality bit of equipment. Once the club has got that rust look the feel and control you get on all kinds of shots is top class. Gives you so much confidence for those hard to hit shots. If you're looking for a wedge then the Cleveland Tour Action 588 RTG wedge might be the one for you.

Just treated myself to a Cleveland Tour Action 588 56 degree RTG sand wedge - Never got on with the X14 wedge from my set and the old Haig Ultra blade I replaced it with is really due for retirement (it's 30 years old if it's a day). I did have a 51 degree Cleveland Tour Action 588 RTG for a while and that had just begun to rust up nicely before I lost it and the feel on that club was lovely. The feel that this new 56 degree wedge has is just as I remember it. This club has (I think) 14 degrees of bounce so is quite useless from tight grass lies but when I hopped into a bunker for some impromptue practice it was just great. The Cleveland Tour Action 588 is just one of those classic wedge shapes when its sat behind a ball. For my own personal preference I'd like to see a bit more of a rounded leading edge on a sand iron but that would be my only gripe about this club. I love the feel of the Cleveland grip and combined with the stiff flex shaft and the beautiful feel on the face of the club its easy to make great shots from close to the green. This club really rips into balls and puts loads of check on them. Will be great fun in the summer on receptive greens. I think this club would be a bit intimidating for the higher handicap players as its got quite a small head and the ground heel and toe profiles could lead to some set up issues, but for anyone who's serious about their short games these clubs are true winners. As good as the Titleist Vokey 200 Series? I'd say so.

I just got Cleveland CG10 wedges and they still don't match the Cleveland Tour Action 588 RTG. The Tour Action 588 is the best wedge I have ever used!

The Cleveland Tour Action 588 RTG wedge is the "oldest: club in my bag. It’s rusted and dinged but I just keep the grooves cleaned up and it’s good to go. Versus the newer wedges today with larger grooves and roughed-up faces, these classics still stand up on full shots and on touch shots around the greens. The feel and weight of this club is just right. Out of the sand, it can blast the ball out high and soft. Lob shots through rough or tight lies around the greens have that high soft landing with enough bite (laying it open is easy w/ the RTG sole grind). This is a confidence and "go to" club. Top Marks for an Oldie.
