Tricky wedge to use. Overhyped, I think. I bought the CG15 60 degree wedge after reading that it received the highest 5-star rating (gold medal) in the Golf Digest Hot List. I thought that the laser microgroove innovation on the wedge (in addition to the standard wedge grooves) would enable me get even more spin, therefore stop the ball faster on the greens. Eventually, after playing 4 rounds with it, I was really disappointed with its performance, having been used to the Titleist Vokey wedges for a while. The CG15 laser micro grooves are more gimicky than functional, as they get clogged quickly and are difficult to properly clean in between shots. Hence, the wedge grooves aren't as effective in creating significant ball spin as was initially marketed. Then the CG15 head is smaller than what I'd prefer, the exact sweet-spot diffiicult to establish, and the shaft a bit too stiff. All these made it difficult to work the ball using different shots. Even replacing the cheap Cleveland grip with the Golf Pride New Decade Multi-compound grip didn't help in improving shot feel and control of this club.
In the end, I traded this wedge for a Callaway Jaws X, which is a far superior club, even better than the Titleist Vokey. My overall assessment: CG15 is either suitable for extremely low players, or an over-hyped club. You decide which one.
