The Cleveland 588 TT irons have been launched along with the 588 Altitude and MT irons and offer a more compact, penetrating option than the other two sets.
The three sets of irons have been designed to be interchangable to create a set of irons that is completely suited to your game. The 588 TT irons are designed to have a Tour Trajectory and should appeal to golfers from game improvement to more experience players.
The set offers a constant blade length and progressive blade height for forgiveness. The result is forgiving longer irons and controlled, penetrating flight from the shorter irons. The modest cavity in the back of the clubhead is engineered to improve performance on off-centre strikes, maintaining ball speed and accuracy. The multi-material insert creates a more consistent feel at impact by limiting vibrations.
Along with the MT and Altitude models, the Cleveland 588 TT irons can be mixed into a hybrid-set to configure the complete set for your game.
Average rating for this product from 1 reviews
The Cleveland TT irons are a quality set of better player cavity back irons. As the TT name suggests, they do have a Tour Trajectory that have a good penetrating flight.
The top line is a little thicker than most and whilst the sole is wide, the cambered trailing edge means that it plays a lot 'thinner' than it looks, if you get our drift. There is also a subtle progressive offset as you go up the set, which helps the forgiveness.
The main forgiveness feature is the deep undercut cavity that improves ball speed on off-centre hits. The feel from the forged face insert was very good, although not quite as soft or solid sounding as a 100% forged iron. However when you got one out of the middle you could really hear and feel the power generated by the clubhead, which put a smile on your face.
The Cleveland TT irons come with an Traction 85 gram steel shaft that is light and very easy to get up and away and this was one of the best features of the club as it will also help you generate that extra clubhead speed.
Overall the TT irons are another very good quality set of irons from Cleveland that are going to be competitively priced and offer a nice balance of performance and forgiveness.
