The Odyssey Tri-Ball SRT putter has a higher MOI for a straighter back and through stroke, and a lightweight body for precise balance. Instead of the 2 ball circles behind the face, the Tri-Ball SRT has three balls for enhanced alignment. The Odyssey Tri-Ball SRT putter has the Saturn Ring Technology (SRT) for added stability and comes with either the White Steel or White Hot insert as well. This all new alignment putter is an unbeatable blend of can’t miss technologies.
The much heralded Odyssey Tri-Ball SRT from Callaway was supposed to take the classic 2-Ball putter to the next level, but I am afraid we were a bit under-whelmed by it. It is significantly larger than the 2-ball putter and very similar in style and feel to the Ping Doc putters. Having an extra ball in the line-up makes lining it up easier, but this putter is now an 'oversized-get-the-weight-as-far-back-as-we-can' mallet rather than the compact and perfectly formed 2-ball mallet. Despite all this it does feel quite light to swing and the feel off the club face is very good and soft, although the insert does not give much sound feedback. Like a lot of these styles of putters, it is great from short range and not quite so good from long range. If you are dead set on a Tri-Ball SRT putter, we would go for the White Hot insert over the White Steel insert as we are not convinced by the theory of the latter. However if you had a choice of any Odyssey putter, we would go for the Dual Force 2 or even the SRT 2-Ball which is coming soon. Shame as the Tri-Ball SRT does look good, feels good and is well made, but it is just a product extension too far. Ironic really as the 2-ball design was inspired by the original 3-ball putter, which did not take off for similar reasons...

As a golfer that was scared enough by the 2-Ball, the Callaway Odyssey Tri-Ball SRT is not the most attractive putter around. It is just too big, very like the Ping DOC. Looks like half a wheel behind the ball and you feel like it should weigh a ton. The Tri-Ball SRT does give a nice roll though, but reserved for those who buy clubs to impress club members and be a talking point. Sorry Charles Howell, but the Callaway Odyssey Tri-Ball SRT has just overstepped the line.

The Callaway Odyssey Tri-Ball SRT is the putter for you. The alignment is so easy all you need to do is pull the putter head back and watch the ball fall. The size might be intimidating at first but one you start using it you start feeling so confident it does not matter. Every stroke you take will feel like the putter just forces the ball straight down the line with a square head every time. The ball starts rolling instantly and smoothly. If you need a little extra edge on the greens this is the putter you need.

Reluctantly I replaced my Ping DOC with the Callaway Odyssey White Steel Tri-Ball as the finish was blistering off the face of the club. The Odyssey is very easy for knocking in 6 footers but is not as good on the longer 10 yard+ putts as it feels as though you have to give it a real bang to get it there. If you can stick your wedges close then you are not going to miss much with this putter.

I disliked the Callaway Odyssey White Steel Tri-Ball SRT putter. It seems stupid staring down at all these different balls and rings. It’s basically very pointless. Looking back I’m very disappointed in this putter. I had high expectations because it came from Odyssey, but wow... The distance with this putter is very easy to control, but not the accuracy. It is hard lining up the balls enough to hit the thing in the right direction. The feel was nice, I’ll give it that and it makes a nice sound, but it is a little soft for my taste. I'd say if you like the 2 ball design, stick with that. More balls are not better.
