I've been playing since I was about 7 or 8 and now that I am living in London I don't get to play that much. I have a pretty consistent and rhythmic swing and so my long game never seems to suffer too much (I’m always due a few sprays here and there) but my short game and specifically my putting has always struggled. Until I got a Callaway odyssey protype. I used to play with a TaylorMade nubbin putter which had a soft face and due to my inconsistent strike would really struggle to gain a consistent feel with the putter and so would often lose my round on the green being miles short or long. Nothing is more upsetting than making the green in regulation and three stabbing. As soon as I took up the new putter the gauge of distance and consistency of strike became so much better. I could replicate what I was practicing on the putting green before the game; I could stand above a put and feel confident that as long as I got the line right I would be in with a good chance. I think the weight of the putter helps with this too. It is slightly heavier than my last putter which allows you to have an even pendulum swing and all goes in to consistency. The two ball design means I can also visualise the line to the hole and especially with shorter puts can strike the ball true and even give it more than I need to ensure it hits the back of the hole. I used to have the yips and now that I am confident with my line I am confident over the ball and think of sinking puts instead of dreading the green. Great putter. Saved my game! My confidence in the brand means I will be looking in to other Callaway clubs from now on and start to look at my wedges.
