Callaway FT-iZ Utility Club

The Callaway FT-iZ hybrid is part of Callaway’s most advanced range of clubs and shares the same technological advance and high performance characteristics as the FT-iZ driver and fairway woods.

The FT-iZ hybrid combines the multi material construction of Fusion Technology with injection moulded weights made from high density metal that have been specifically placed in the clubhead to deliver the longest and straightest performance of any Callaway hybrid. This has allowed weight to be concentrated near the face and in the FT-iZ’s heel panels to create an incredibly stable weighting sytem.

Callaway have designed the club to deliver and the process behind the engineering of the FT-iZ was to create a hybrid club that delivered the trajectory and performance that better players demand. Roll has been eliminated from the clubface to make striking the ball similar to striking it with an iron while retaining the exceptional stability and forgiveness of a hybrid.

As with the rest of the FT-iZ range the FT-iZ hybrid has been redesigned and the hybrid has been given a wider clubhead with a lower profile. This has helped to both inspire confidence at address and place the centre of gravity much lower in the clubhead to produce the optimum ball flight on every shot.

The Callaway FT-iZ hybrid offer maximum performance and maximum stability in the longest and most accurate hybrid Callaway have ever released.

Callaway FT-iZ Utility Club Review

The first thing we noticed about the Callaway FT-iZ hybrid is the clubhead which is quite large for hybrid and gives the impression that this is a club that really wants to be a fairway wood. It is certainly very noticeable at address and that might be enough to put the lower handicappers off.

On the other hand mid to high handicappers will certainly appreciate the confidence boost this gives and it also means the FT-iZ is one of the most stable clubs around and it is very forgiving on off centre hits. The sound and feel are excellent as well. The FT-iZ hybrid is an ideal club for mid to high handicappers seeking a consistent and forgiving replacement for their long irons.
