4 stars out of 5 (Based on 4 reviews)

Callaway Golf Forged+ Wedges have been created using Roger Cleveland’s decades of short game expertise and extensive feedback from tour professionals. The new wedges offer golfers many exciting options, including a larger head size, a new tour-inspired sole grind and multiple bounce angles for added personalization. Like Roger Cleveland's original Callaway Golf Forged Wedges - which will remain in Callaway Golf’s product line - the new Callaway Golf Forged+ Wedges are traditional wedges forged from the same soft 1020 carbon steel, but with several new design elements based. The larger head size of the Forged+ Wedges allowed Roger to make the blade length longer from heel to toe while shifting the scoring lines to the centre of the clubface. Many tour players reported that this design improved their confidence by framing the ball better at address. The sole of the new wedges has more relief in the heel area to keep the leading edge of each wedge lower to the ground when the clubface is opened, making it easier to get under the ball for delicate short shots. There are two different bounce angles designed available, with the 56-degree wedge available with either 12 or 14 degrees of bounce, while the 58- and 60-degree wedges have either 10 or 12 degrees of bounce. The wedges comes in a Vintage finish that is designed to wear away and allow the raw carbon steel to rust to a fine patina.

Callaway Forged+ Vintage Wedge Review

The Callaway Forged Plus Vintage wedge is a solid good looking wedge as you would expect from Roger Cleveland of Cleveland fame. Better players will appreciate the soft feel and finish of this vintage version and the larger head size of the + version compared the the standard Callaway Forged wedges. We did not feel it was better than a Vokey or a Cleveland, but it is right up there.

My first thought was that the Callaway Forged+ Vintage wedge does not look like a Callaway iron. Had a Cleveland look about it. The head was just a bit too rounded for my liking. It was easy to hit, but I didn't get the same sort of feel and feedback I get from my present Cleveland wedges. Good club, but not for me.

I thought that the look of the Callaway Forged + Vintage wedge was very small and very tough to hit and put spin on it. But I was wrong, it was quite easy to hit. I could also generate enough spin when needed.
