The Callaway X fairway woods feature the X-sole that we really liked from the previous X fairways. On the new model it is a little more subtle but it still helps you get the club head square at address. Everyone has their favourite Callaway fairway wood model, but after a few ranges that were a step back from the classic original war birds and steelheads, we feel that the 2008 X-fairways are back on track. The sound and feel was excellent and the trajectory could be varied easily. The tour versions of the X fairways have a shallower face than the normal versions and some stronger lofts for better players who like to keep it down. Well worth a try.
