The Callaway X fairway woods feature the X-sole that we really liked from the previous X fairways. On the new model it is a little more subtle but it still helps you get the club head square at address. Everyone has their favourite Callaway fairway wood model, but after a few ranges that were a step back from the classic original war birds and steelheads, we feel that the 2008 X-fairways are back on track. The sound and feel was excellent and the trajectory could be varied easily. The standard versions of the X fairways have a nice deep face and a good variety of lofts to fit everyone's back. Well worth a try.
