The Bridgestone J40 445 Driver is designed to promote a mid-to-high launch with low spin for accurate, long drives. The 445cc, 6-4 Titanium clubhead is made through a 4-piece head construction. In this process, Bridgestone were able to redistribute weight to the perimeter of the clubhead in order to increase the J40's MOI and prevent the clubhead from twisting at impact. The J40 455 Driver features a short hosel for maximum control, whilst the deep face increases the vertical gear effect. Bridgestone’s proprietary Variable Thickness Design adds mass to the toe and heel of the clubhead to produce higher balls speeds from off-centre strikes.
