Adidas Puremotion Golf Shoe

Adidas Adidas Golf Shoes Read Reviews
5 stars out of 5 (Based on 1 reviews)

The Adidas puremotion shoe is a natural movement golf shoe designed to increase flexibility and comfort on and off the course.

Weighing just 320 grams (11.5 ounces), the lightweight puremotion design was inspired by the concept of barefoot training. The puremotion golf shoe brings the foot closer to the ground, whilst providing the traction, support, waterproofing and freedom of movement needed to perform.

Adidas' VP of Golf Global Footwear, Bill Price describes the puremotion shoe as "the best of both worlds. It gives you natural motion and stability without restriction. It’s a shoe that forces you to find your own balance and tempo while improving your awareness of the ground and how it relates to your swing.”

The anti-wicking mesh upper provides breathability and waterproofing while an abrasion-resistant outsole provides green-friendly spikeless traction and comfort. The Adidas puremotion's unique oblique web-shaped forefoot allows a player's toes to natural spread, promoting better stability and increasing flexibility. This is further aided by a reduced heel lift that helps align the spine with the body and improves posture.

Adidas Puremotion Golf Shoe Review

The Adidas Puremotion golf shoe is their offering in the natural motion category. The theory goes along the lines of letting your feet move in a more 'natural' motion as if you were a barefoot homo sapien striding across the plains in search of game. The only game we are after is birdies and maybe the odd eagle but the puremotion golf shoe does follow these principles well.

The first thing you notice is the wider forefront of the shoes that allows your toes to spread out more than in a regular shoe. This does make them feel very comfortable too as your little pinkies have the space to flex as nature intended.

The other very noticeable feature is the skeletal like design of the sole that mimicks a human footprint and after you walk out of a bunker it does look like homo-erectus has been in there instead of you. This is the key to the natural motion design and it does feel very comfortable indeed.

There is a little edge to the sole design and if you move your weight over your foot as you swing through then it does seem more inclined to roll over than other shoes. There is a little stability support on the edge of the outsole but a little more would be good, but is probably not the point of a natural motion shoe.

A lot of these natural motion shoes will work your feet harder so the first few times could discover a few new muscles in your legs and backs, so just imagine all the good they are doing for you.

The puremotion shoes come with a waterpoof upper that has kept out all the rain we have played in so far. It is also reasonably warm in the freezing Scottish spring and well put together. Whilst it may look like a regular sports shoe, the sole rigidity is very good and the puremotion will hold and support you throughout the swing very well.

The Adidas Puremotion is not a street shoe as the styling is maybe a little too sporty for most streets. It only comes in black and white in the UK, but our friends in the USA get a blue option too, which is our favourite so it is a real shame it is not available here. However it is a top drawer performance golf shoe that is extremely comfortable, grips the ground very well and is a joy to wear.
