The Adams Idea CMB irons are playable players irons featuring a Tour proven design loaded with technology.
Adams have combined incredible looks and feel in a two-piece, laser plasma-welded forged construction to produce the Adams Idea CMB irons. Designed to provide forgiveness in a players irons, Adams Golf's Tim Reed says "We have created an iron that appeals to the best players in the world, but also has technology to make them playable for a wide range of players."
The nickel chrome satin finish and forged 1025 carbon steel head provide exceptional look and feel, whilse the triple-milled (face, grooves & cavity) design improves the scoreline.
The real strength of the Adams Idea CMB irons however, is under the hood. Each iron features a tungsten weight low in the toe, ensuring the centre of gravity is precisely centred producing minimal twisting at impact and enhancing feel. The Idea CMB irons also feature a new 3-way cambered sole that improves turf interaction.

Here's an Idea: make a solid, strong, good looking iron for better players. But what should we call it? How about the Adams Idea CMB irons.
The Idea CMB irons with their classical appearance, look great in your hand, in your bag and especially behind the ball. The compact, clean look is uncomplicated and will appeal to low-handicappers and pro's. The head size doesn't alter much throughout the set however, although the longer irons seem a little on the compact side. Not a problem for professionals, but it may intimidate some amateurs.
The sound and feel is strong. Strike it well and the deep, strong feel will make its way from the clubface and into your hands. The flight, despite being a better player's iron, was still a mid height flight and the classic design makes them very easy to work in the air.
We thought the forgiveness was certainly a step up from a typical blade and aided by the addition of the Tungsten weights in the toe. The forgiveness probably sits better than your old-style blade and closer to a better players cavity back.
We tested the grey coloured KBS Tour C-Taper steel shaft, which was an interesting change from the usual steel shaft you find a better player's club. The shaft still remained strong and felt better than expected on the short irons, maintaining the control and workability you expect in your scoring clubs. On the longer irons you can feel the difference between graphite and steel. The clubs has a little more flex on the way down and ball appears to fly a touch further and higher as a result.
The Idea CMB irons are only offered in this or the Matrix Ozik Program 8.1 graphite shaft, so if you are committed to steel you will need to custom fit them yourself.
Overall, a very simple, strong feeling better player iron. Just like we have found some game-improvement clubs are really 'super game-improving', these irons will really appeal to those 'very' good players. Essentially an iron designed for a Tour pro, that will have some crossover appeal to good amateurs.
