The Fedex Cup playoffs are designed to give the end of the PGA Tour season more meaning. Four events bring together the best players from throughout the year to battle it out for the Fedex Cup trophy and a winning bonus cheque of $10,000,000.

The Barclays did exactly that. The best players from 2013 went back and forth Sunday, with Adam Scott outlasting Justin Rose, Phil Mickleson and Tiger Woods to win by a single stroke.

The win takes the Aussie to a career-best number two in the world, and number two in the 2013 Fedex Cup standings.

Having already won his first Major at Augusta, Scott is giving Tiger a strong challenge for 2013 Player Of The Year. Having made the cut at all four 2013 majors, and finishing them at a cumulative 2-over, Scott won the unofficial Majors Trophy (lowest score at the four majors) for the second consecutive year.

The Barclays title is also Scott's 10th PGA Tour victory, making him just the 4th player since 2003 to win ten titles (Woods, Mickelson and Singh).

Scott, a long time Titleist player, had 14 Titleist clubs in his bag Sunday:
